Syngenta May Owe You a Significant Cash Settlement

Syngenta is a multinational corporation based in Switzerland. They developed two genetically modified strains of corn called Agrisure Viptera and Agrisure Duracade that repelled certain pests. Syngenta then allegedly mislead US farmers to believe that the GMO corn was or would soon be approved to be imported into China.

China detected Syngenta’s corn in a shipment from the United States in November 2013 and began rejecting shipments. Between November 2013 and February 2014, China rejected the majority of American corn. From February 2014 to December 2014, China banned all corn from the United States, resulting in billions of dollars lost.

All FSA Farmers Who Planted Corn May Qualify

Whether or not you grew Syngenta’s GMO corn, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer, because the price of all US corn drop significantly as a result of China’s ban. Farmers lost several billions of dollars between 2013 and 2014 as a direct consequence of Syngenta’s misleading marketing and sales tactics.

If you are an FSA-registered farmer who planted corn of any type during the 2013–2014 farming year, you may qualify for financial compensation. Get a free, two-minute evaluation today.

Who Is Filing Syngenta GMO Corn Lawsuits

Cargill Inc. filed a lawsuit against Syngenta Seeds, Inc. in September 2014 for commercializing Syngenta corn seed before it had obtained import approval from China. Days after Cargill filed its lawsuit, Trans Coastal Supply Co. filed another suit. By February 2016, more than 24,000 US corn farmers and others in the corn industry had filed suits against Syngenta. Some estimate that number to grow to more than 100,000 before the lawsuit closes.

There are cases in several courts, including a multidistrict litigation in Kentucky (In Re Syngenta AG MIR 162 Corn Litigation, Case No. 2:14-md-02591), Illinois, and Minnesota.
